SANTA AT THE DUNCAN BUILDING
Saturday, December 16
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday afternoon, December 5th, the Unadilla Area
Fund met at the Duncan Building. Election of officers was
held for the upcoming year. The All Fund Drive was discussed
and declared a success. We will have a final tally for you soon.
We are so blessed to be a part of this generous community!
Preparations for Groundhog Day were also discussed. Please
remember the Parade will start at 2 p.m. About 30 residents,
town and country, new and old, attended the reception and
enjoyed food and drink. It was a most enjoyable evening!
Sunday evening, December 10, about 150 people
attended the concert by Bellisimo at the Unadilla Community
Center. Instruments were bells of every size, flute, and cello.
It was a wonderful performance, directed by Nancy Youngman,
and the event was organized by Pastor Sandy Denton of the
Unadilla Christian Church.
Other members were: Gwen Belden, Karen Braaten,
Richard Cruisinberry, Susan Hoover, Curt Youngman, Amy
Bloomquist, Kassandra Braaten, Joan Michelsen, Christopher
Boilesen, Curt Butler, Michele Filbert, Christopher Peck,

Laura Stahly. (They represented 8 churches in the Lincoln
area.) Last weekend they were honored to perform with the
Lincoln Symphony Orchestra at the Lied Center. If you ever
have the opportunity, please attend on of their joyous events!
Some of you may remember Joe & Pearl Pebley who lived
on the southwest corner by the gymnasium. Their daughter,
Doris "Debbie" Crosby, passed away 11-25-2017. She was
preceeded by her parents and a younger sister, Laura Wickline.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO
Friday, 12-14-1917, The Otoe Union:
Unadilla's own, Dr. E.C. Williams, M.D., received a visit from
his sister, who hailed from Delia, Canada. The editor printed
a letter from Daniel L. Johnson, "somewhere over there". At the
end he says, "Say, you might send me a pair of sheep-
lined mittens for Christmas." There were no church services
at Paisley or Hopewell churches due to the severe weather.
