Get well wishes to Gene West who took a good

tumble.

Condolences to Bob Stanley and family on the loss

 of Bob's mother, Dorothy Stanley.

Bob Wilhelm reports the Pancake Feed at the Legion

Post Home Sunday was a big success. Thanks to all

who worked and those who ate.

University of Nebraska at Omaha students were re-

cognized during Honors Week, March 23-27. The an-

nual weeklong celebration recognizes academic ex-

cellence, campus leadership, and volenteerism

among UNO's best and brightest undergraduate and

graduate students. James A. Conradi, Environmental

Studies, was honored as an Undergraduate Major

Honoree. Honorees selected by departments in which

they are majoring must have a minimum cumulative

grade point average of 3.33 and are selected on the

basis of academic achievement in addition to their

contributions to the university and the community.

Work is beginning on the Main Street Landscaping

Project. Thanks to Bob Brandt and Steve Kroese for

all their hard labor preparation, and to Ron Zieger for

his donation of wildflower seeds.

There were lots of familiar faces at the Pre-Kinder-

garten concert last Thursday night. And lots of won-

derful singers!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 4-30-1909, The Otoe Union: Mrs. M.A.

Stanbro, the milliner at Palmyra, was offering a "big

discount" to women with Unadilla addresses. Ed Car-

per and family were moving back from Gosper Co.

Dr. W.T. Coffman died and was buried at Unadilla.
