Leslie & Colin Malloy, Omaha, welcomed a daughter, Ella Leta, on 5-28-10. Grandparents are Jim & Mary Pope *** Edra & Melton Dixon, and Eileen Isaacs, all Otoe, and Alma Pierson, Syracuse, joined Dale & Karen Isaacs and Russell Hull for a 4th of July BBQ. Karen & Dale did the grilling, but everyone had to eat inside due to the RAIN! ***
Thanks to Judy Stoner Pope for her generous donation to the Unadilla Cemetery *** Saturday, July 10, the Fire Dept. was called to the residence of Ron & Ruth Stocking. We are told there was major damage and the home is not livable for now. ***
Curtis Wolbert, OCGS president presenting award to Barb (photo courtesy of Curtis Wolbert) Barb Wilhelm attended the OCGS meeting in Nebraska City on Thursday, July 8, where she was awarded a certificate of recognition for creating and maintaining a database of Unadilla residents from the town's inception until present. She also helps to maintain the Unadilla Cemetery records and is in the process of photographing the tombstones and putting them on the find-a-grave website. ***

Friday, 7-15-1910, The Otoe Union: Everyone was running late because "the clock at the B & M Depot is away for repairs." The Clarinda Butter & Egg Co. installed a steam tester and would sterilize and clean patron's milk cans. Unadilla and Berlin (Otoe) played a 13-inning game with Unadilla finally beating their host 7-2. Threshing had begun. ***

Auditions for Neil Simon's play, "Jake's Women" will take place at the Lofte Theatre on Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27 at 7 pm. There are parts available for six women, one man, and one young girl (age 10-15). Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Kevin Colbert will direct. Performance dates are August 27-29 and September 3-5, 9-12. ***
The August OCGS meeting will be held on 8-12, 7 pm, at the Syracuse United Methodist Church, 560 6th Street, Syracuse OCGS President, Curtis Wolbert, will be presenting a class entitled "25 Common Mistakes in Genealogical Research". Hope to see you there! ***
