VILLAGE OF UNADILLA, NEBRASKA

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

September 8, 2010

 

            A regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, was held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 7:30 p.m. at the Village Office. Notice of said meeting and proposed agenda of then known subjects was given by posting in the three following places within the Village: Countryside Bank, Post Office, and Village Office window, and by publishing in the Syracuse Journal-Democrat on September 6, 2010; and by serving a copy of said notice to each member of the Board of Trustees more than 5 days prior to said meeting. Trustees present: Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Janet Oelke, and Lynn Schomerus. Absent: Arliss Wassenberg. Visitors: none.

Chairman Crownover called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He reminded everyone of the location of the Open Meetings Act poster.

Schomerus made a motion to rescind the August 11, 2010 motion to purchase the LPG tank from Dwight Kastens’ friend and instead, purchase an LPG tank from Betty Wallen, Stoner seconded, and motion carried 4-0; absent and not voting: Wassenberg.

Oelke made a motion to approve the corrected August 2010 minutes; Stoner seconded, motion carried 4-0; absent and not voting: Wassenberg.

Stoner made a motion to approve the August 2010 treasurer’s report, Schomerus seconded, motion carried 4-0; absent and not voting: Wassenberg.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

            The amount of the Keno check was $893.04.

            Water consumed: 913,000; water paid for: 638,000; balance for month: -275,000; YTD: -374,000.

            There were no public comments.

            In regards to the street repair by Bruce Hassler, Chairman reported Randy Crownover was ready to do the work.

            Schomerus reported that the speed bumps would be installed in the next week or so.

            The Board approved changing the date on TR Mart’s Special License from 10-2-2010 to 10-9-2010.

            Stoner made a motion for Kastens to purchase a shop vac, Oelke seconded, motion carried 4-0; absent and not voting: Wassenberg.

            Stoner made a motion to appoint Crownover and Schomerus as the Special Projects Committee, Oelke seconded, motion carried 4-0; absent and not voting: Wassenberg.

            Stoner made a motion to pay claims, Schomerus seconded, and motion carried 4-0; absent and not voting: Wassenberg.

            The list of delinquent water and sewer patrons was reviewed. Shut-offs will be sent to: Dale Bailey, Kyle Gress, Ron Isaacs, David Lewis, Aaron Paul, Chad Pester, Shon Ryan, and Ken Sack.

            In correspondence, Clerk was instructed to reply to School District #27 with a “Letter of Intent to Purchase” for $35,000. Clerk will hand deliver to Supt. Buller. A request by Clayton Johnson to set up a feed-mill type device for his corn burning stove was declined. It was also reported that the stop sign by Clayton Johnson residence is missing. Clerk reported Kastens has agreed to go to water school and Board gave their permission for him to take his wife along.
