Did you know that the average American generates 4.6

pounds of trash everyday? We throw away almost 30

million trees a year from newsprint alone. Did you know that

a glass bottle thrown away today will still be here

in the year 3000?

Friday, 6-19-1914, The Otoe Union:

Former resident Fred Embree, drove from his home in

Merna, NE, to Lincoln in his brand new car. The trip was

250 miles and he made it in one day. He said, "They may

laugh at the Ford, but if a man has a machine that can climb

hills, leap ditches, and swim streams, he ought to be

satisfied. All it lacks is the power to fly."

Sumner G. Farnsworth, son of H.P. Farnsworth,

Unadilla, and Mildred V. Cox, daughter of J.D. Cox,

Nebraska City, were married in Lincoln. They met during

the time Mildred taught school in Unadilla.
