Unadilla Area Fund/Foundation Minutes 6-9-2014 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The meeting was called to order at 5:10 p.m. by President Barb Wilhelm. In addition to Barb, those present were Donna Crownover, Peggy Leefers, Larry Larson, Bob Brandt, Maureen Vogt, and Dan Crownover.

Dan gave a short presentation in regard to the current condition of the roofs on the Community Center and gymnasium. It's apparent that the roofs need to be repaired. The cost will be substantial. The members of the fund indicated that they would help with the repairs if funds were needed.

Discussion was held in regard to the upcoming BBQ. It was noted that the boys' ball games will take place about the same time the BBQ is in progress. Hopefully the girl scouts will help again and perhaps make some additional sales of sandwiches and/or pop to the people attending the ball game. There will be a fun run organized by Sharon Baker and Susanna Porter this year, and will be held in the morning at 7:00 a.m. In addition, there will be an insect collection excursion for kids at the Dieken Prairie at 10:00 a.m. for ages 5-12, and many activities done previously. This schedule can be found on the Unadilla Community website.  Bob indicated that he is in the process of getting tags for memorial trees at the park. He will put the name, year of birth and death, and name of tree to commemorate the lives of these individuals who contributed to the foundation.

The meeting was followed by wine and cheese, which was provided by some of the volunteers. It was suggested that a flyer be available listing the donations and accomplishments of our area fund. This could be distributed at community events.

Bob indicated that he is progressing with the purchase of a flag pole for the park. The Unadilla Mechants Association is paying for the pole.

Barb indicated that the mext meeting will be held July 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the Library. All visitors are welcome.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
