From Peggy Leefers: Five members of the Sundowners FCE
Club went west to Fillmore County Tuesday, June 23, and enjoyed
seeing the Barn Quilts of Fillmore County. Members went to
Fairmont and Geneva, ate lunch in Strang, and continued the
tour at Shickley and Milligan. 52 Barn Quilts were viewed and
were enjoyed by all. Favorites and colors were chosen and we
have some ideas to bring back to Otoe County. It would be fun
to join Fillmore and Cass counties with a trail of our own. It
was a bright and sunny day with a road trip with friends ---
doesn't get much better than that!
Belated wedding anniversary to Matt & Susie Doeden,
who celebrated 6-21.
Workers made progress in the Resource Room at the
Community Center, Saturday, June 20. We now have a
computer and printers up and running. (No internet yet.)
The microfilm reader is working also. We will begin loading
the index to the District Court records in the coming weeks.
A new flag is flying over the Unadilla Park
compliments of the Unadilla Merchants!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO
Friday, 6-25-1915, The Otoe Union:
"Rassel fans were treated to a real amateur match Monday
night when Herman Stoner and Guy Dean pulled off a match
just for fun. It was a good one and was won by Stoner in
two straight falls." The Bassett family headed for the coast
where they would visit the Panama Exposition. J.W. Bassett
was the Chairman of the Village Board; I.F. Lowe was
the Clerk.
