How many trees will you plant this Arbor Day?

wedding is planned.
Continued get well wishes to Randy Steinkuhler, Gerry Davis,
and Bruce Hassler.
My sister Mary and I had a "research trip" to Bedford and
Clarinda, Iowa, last Friday. We saw some wonderful old
courthouses and other buildings, the Taylor County Museum
at Bedford is just awesome, walked a few cemeteries, and met
lots of wonderful and helpful people. But, we did not find the
information we were looking for. I guess another road trip it is!
May is National Bike Month - get yours out
and dust it off!
Seven members of the Otoe County Genealogical Society met
Saturday, April 22, at the Otoe County Museum of Memories
in Syracuse. A lengthy business meeting was held and then the
fun part: touring the museum and parsonage. Time did not allow
for the Kramer Building or the Garage. If you haven't been there
in awhile, we urge you to visit on a Sunday afternoon beginning
May 7. The Society received some research requests, so Sunday
Bob and I traveled to Paul, Nebraska, looking for the old home
of August & Mary Ann Mitzner. It had been torn down. Then
we went to Nebraska City and checked out the overpass project,
which is coming right along, and how could we not stop and
check out the new Tractor Supply Store in the old Alco
Building? It was a great afternoon with weather to match!
Don't forget the fastpitch fundraiser this coming Sunday
at Grandpa's Woods!

GREENBLATT & SEAY SONGBOOK
Multi-instrumentalists, Greenblatt & Seay, will be sharing their original tunes and stories on Sunday, May 14, at 2:30 PM, in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse. This concert celebrates over 30 years of musical experiences inspired by their children, their students, and their Schoolhouse home/studio/sanctuary. Light-hearted vocals will blend with the supportive textures of fiddle, harmonica, guitar, nyckelharpa, mandolin, etc.
Greenblatt & Seay have been playing beautiful music together since the night they met. Both are now Master Artists with the Nebraska Arts Council's Artist-in-the-Schools program, and participate in Humanities Nebraska's Speakers Bureau.
The concert will be downstairs, and followed by light refreshments, and a chance to chat and even jam with Greenblatt & Seay.
