SPECIAL BUDGET HEARING

UNADILLA VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

UNADILLA, NEBRASKA

September 14, 2022

 

            A special hearing of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, NE, was held at the Village Library on September 14, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions, or observations of taxpayers relating to the proposed budget figures for 2022-2023. The following trustees were present:  Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Janet Oelke, Scott Hincker and Clark Stubbendeck. Visitors Thom Machal

            The proposed budget figures prepared by Lanny Burr, CPA, were reviewed by the trustees. The Board is allowed a 2.5% increase and Trustee Oelke made a motion that the Board approves an additional 1% increase. Said motion was seconded by Stoner, and on a roll call vote, trustees Stoner, Oelke, Hincker, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted: yea, and none voted nay. Motion carried 5-0.

            Trustee Stubbendeck then made a motion that the budget document be accepted as presented. Motion was seconded by Hincker. On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Hincker, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea.  None voted nay. Motion carried 5-0. There were no public comments.

            Trustee Stubbendeck made a motion to close the Budget Hearing at 7:45. Hincker seconded, and motion carried 5-0.

            Trustee Stoner made a motion to pay the bill for budget preparation in the amount of $955.00. Hincker seconded and motion carried 5-0.

            Hearing was opened at 7:47 to set final tax request.

            Chairman Crownover then introduced Ordinance No. 261-22 entitled: Annual Appropriation Ordinance. Hincker moved that the Statutory Rule requiring reading on three different days be suspended. Seconded by Stubbendeck. On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Hincker, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea.  None voted nay. Motion carried 5-0.  Oelke moved for final passage. Stoner seconded, and on a roll call vote, all trustees voted: yea.  Chairman Crownover declared Ordinance No. 261-22 adopted and signed same in presence of the Village Board and the Clerk, who attested same.  Chairman Crownover then introduced Resolution No R8-22. A Resolution setting the Property Tax Request.  Trustee Stubbendeck made a motion to approve R8-22, seconded by trustee Hincker.  On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Hincker, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea.  None voted nay. Motion carried 5-0. A copy of said ordinance and resolution are attached to these minutes.

            Trustee Hincker made a motion to close the hearing.  Stoner seconded and on a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Hincker, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea.  None voted nay. Motion carried 5-0.  There were no public comments.

            Burr & Associates will send the budget and related documents to the State Auditor and to the Otoe County Clerk.

            The hearing adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
