REGULAR BOARD MEETING

February 08, 2023

 

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, was held on Wednesday, February 08, 2023, 7:30 p.m. at the Unadilla Community Center. Notice of said meeting and proposed agenda of then known subjects was given by posting in the three following places within the Village: Countryside Bank, Post Office, and Community Center Notice Board; and by serving a copy of said notice to each member of the Board of Trustees more than 5 days prior to said meeting. Trustees present: Fredrick Rumery, Dan Crownover, Troy Whitehead, Scott Hincker, and Clark Stubbendeck.  Visitors: Glenda Willnerd, Alberta Block, and Jan Maloy.

Chairman Rumery called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Rumery reminded everyone of the location of the Open Meetings Act Poster.

Stubbendeck made a motion to approve the January 2023 minutes Hinker seconded. On a roll call vote, Whitehead, Hincker, Stubbendeck, Crownover and Rumery voted yea. None voted nay, motion carried 5-0.

Stubbendeck made a motion to approve the January 2023 treasurer’s report, bank statements, reconciliation, and receipts, Whitehead seconded. On a roll call vote, Hincker, Stubbendeck, Whitehead, Crownover, and Rumery voted yea. None voted nay, motion carried 5-0.

Crownover made a motion to approve the claims, seconded by Stubbendeck. On a roll call vote, Whitehead, Hincker, Stubbendeck, Crownover and Rumery voted yea. None voted nay, motion carried 5-0.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

          Water consumed: 854,000; water paid for: 396,000; balance for month:

+458,000; YTD: 0. The water main breaks and water tower leak have all been fixed and all water tests have passed.

         Schoolhouse items: The new exercise bike was delivered mid January. Discussed not renting out the gym the Friday before Groundhogs Celebration.

          Street Project: Finalization steps/paperwork have begun on the Street Fund and setting up payments and accounts with USDA and CSBank. Discussed keeping all funds offered to continue with street improvements.

          BBQ – Discussion commenced on the dates for this years BBQ and Tiffany will reach out to Mal’s to see if a few dates are available.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Discussion of implementing GWorks as a program for the Village Office was had and it was suggested by Tiffany to get a second monitor/monitors for the current programs in the office instead. Motion was made by Crownover, seconded by Stubbendeck. On a roll call vote, Hincker, Stubbendeck, Whitehead, Crownover, and Rumery voted yay. None voted nay. Motion carried 5-0.

Water main break was discussed and decided upon that letters will be sent out with March invoices as how to proceed and get information pertaining to the situation when/if it happens again.

Glenda Willnerd spoke on behalf of the Library to establish and recognize them as an entity of the Village of Unadilla and recognize the members of the board in order to receive available funds as such. Motion was made by Hincker. Seconded by Whitehead. On a roll call vote, Hincker, Whitehead, Stubbendeck, Crownover, and Rumery voted yay. None voted nay. Motion carried 5-0.

In correspondence: Groundhogs Day was a success with having the parade and other activities.

Tiffany Portenier will attend clerk school in March to acquire 8 hours of education needed for the year and to obtain cerification.

 Ed Meinke is still seeking to enroll in training to obtain water operators license.
