REGULAR BOARD MEETING

January 19, 2022

 

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, was held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 7:30 p.m. at the Unadilla Library. The meeting was postponed from January 12th.  Notice of said meeting and proposed agenda of then known subjects was given by posting in the three following places within the Village: Countryside Bank, Post Office, and Community Center Notice Board; and by serving a copy of said notice to each member of the Board of Trustees more than 5 days prior to said meeting. Trustees present Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Janet Oelke, and Clark Stubbendeck. Absent and not voting; Scott Hincker.  Visitors: none.

Chairman Crownover called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He reminded everyone of the location of the Open Meetings Act Poster. 

Stubbendeck made a motion to approve the December 2022 minutes, seconded by Oelke with one correction. On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay, motion carried 4-0.

Stoner made a motion to approve the December 2022 treasurer’s report, bank statements, reconciliation, and receipts, seconded by Stubbendeck. On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay, motion carried 4-0.

Stubbendeck made a motion to approve the claims, seconded by Stoner.  On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay, motion carried 4-0. 

                                                                           

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

          The Keno check was in the amount of $0.00

          Water consumed: 687,000; water paid for: 460,000; balance for month:

 -227,000; YTD: -227,000.  The water test came back good. 

          Schoolhouse items: The Library Board is purchasing a furnace/air conditioner unit from Hemje Plumbing for the Library room.  The Library Board will pay for the unit and asks if the Village will pay for the wiring. Also discussed was replacing the old furnace unit at the south end of the gym.  Bohl Plumbing submitted a bid for $5,116.00 for the unit and to install it. The Unadilla Area Fund will be asked to pay for this unit. Oelke made a motion to install the furnace for the gym and to pay for the wiring of the library unit, seconded by Stoner.  On a roll call vote,

Stoner, Oelke, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay.  Clerk asked the Board if a set of dumbbells and weight bench could be purchased for the work out room with the increase of members.  Stoner made a motion to purchase these items, seconded by Oelke.  Trying to stay around $300.00.  On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay.  Motion carried 4-0.  The clerk ended up spending $381.54 for both unites. Clerk called Body Basics on the treadmill that is not working.  They will replace the board on that unit.

          Quonset Property:  Nothing has been received from OPPD as to the lease agreement yet.                                                                       

          Street Project:  The Notice to Bid was submitted to Gatehouse Media to publish for 4 weeks, beginning 1-14-22.  The Bids will be opened with JEO on Feb. 8th.

          BBQ:  Discussion of holding the Unadilla BBQ is moved to the February meeting.

          Public Comments:  None

           

NEW BUSINESS:

          Stubbendeck made a motion to renew Nitty Gritty Gas & Thrift and Mal’s Bar & Grill liquor License, seconded by Stubbendeck.  On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Stubbendeck and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay, motion carried 4-0.

          Stoner made a motion to approve the clerk’s bond, seconded by Oelke.  On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Schomerus and Crownover voted yea, none voted nay, motion carried 4-0.

                                      

          Review Delinquent water & sewer patrons:  Account #037, 048, 067, 074, 075, 088, 098, 104, 108, 113, 114, 115, 170, &183.

                                                                                     

          In Correspondence:  Groundhogs Day is scheduled for February 5th.  Limited activities this year due to COVID.   Tobacco licenses were renewed for Mal’s Bar & Grill and Nitty Gritty for 2022.  Total All Fund Drive was $12,060.00.
