VILLAGE OF UNADILLA, NEBRASKA

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

May 13, 2009

 

            A regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, was held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 7:30 p.m. at the Village Office. Notice of said meeting and proposed agenda of then known subjects was given by posting in the three following places within the Village: The Bar, Post Office, and Village Office window, and by publishing in the Syracuse Journal-Democrat on May 7, 2009; and by serving a copy of said notice to each member of the Board of Trustees more than 5 days prior to said meeting. Trustees present: Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Arliss Wassenberg, Janet Oelke, and Lynn Schomerus. Visitors: Russ Ziemann. Absent: Clerk Wilhelm.

Chairman Crownover called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He reminded everyone of the location of the Open Meetings Act poster; and that the meeting was being recorded.

Oelke made a motion to approve the April 2009 minutes; Wassenberg seconded, motion carried 5-0.

April 2009 treasurer’s report was unavailable.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

            Crownover reported that the benches and trash receptacles had been installed on Main Street.

            The amount of the Keno check was unavailable.

            Water figures were unavailable.

            There were no tabled items.

            There were no public comments.

            Russ Ziemann appeared and gave a short presentation on underage drinking and drug use in Otoe County. Statistics were provided by Partners for Otoe County. Russ can be contacted at 402.828.4015 for more information.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

            The upcoming FEMA Workshop on Hazard Mitigation was discussed. It will be held 5-28 at the Duncan Building. Clerk indicated at least one Board member needed to be present.

            Hiring a Deputy Clerk was also discussed. Clerk had indicated her desire to retire at age 62, and would like to have someone trained to take over. Crownover stated it would be talked about again at the next meeting.

            The water leak by Shon Ryan’s, 555 E Street, was discussed as was Steve Vodicka’s request for 4 volunteers to help with the kid’s tractor pull on June 20, and a building permit for Randy Juilfs. Crownover had inspected the site and regulations and found the project within the limits. He will tell Clerk to issue the permit.

            The claims for May were unavailable for review. Stoner made a motion to pay the bills anyway, Wassenberg seconded, and motion carried.

            The list of delinquent water & sewer patrons was unavailable. There was no correspondence.

            The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
