VILLAGE OF UNADILLA, NEBRASKA
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
July 8, 2009
A regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, was held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, 7:30 p.m. at the Village Office. Notice of said meeting and proposed agenda of then known subjects was given by posting in the three following places within the Village: The Bar, Post Office, and Village Office window, and by publishing in the Syracuse Journal-Democrat on July 2, 2009; and by serving a copy of said notice to each member of the Board of Trustees more than 5 days prior to said meeting. Trustees present: Dan Crownover, Arliss Wassenberg, Janet Oelke, and Lynn Schomerus. Visitors: none. Absent: Dale Stoner
Chairman Crownover called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He reminded everyone of the location of the Open Meetings Act poster; and that the meeting was being recorded.
Schomerus made a motion to approve the June 2009 minutes with the following correction under New Business: Clerk reported that Trustee Janet Oelke, Trustee Dale Stoner, and she had attended the FEMA workshop. Wassenberg seconded, motion carried 4-0.
Oelke made a motion to accept the May 2009 and June 2009 treasurer's report; Schomerus seconded, motion carried 4-0.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The amount of the Keno check was 1640.72. (Check was received the day after the meeting).
Water consumed for June was 694,000; water paid for 779,000; +85,000 for month; +122,000 YTD.
Tabled item: hiring deputy clerk. Clerk will get application forms and put together a job description.
Crownover reported on Norm Duncan's plans to build a two-stall garage to replace the one-stall garage that had blown over on his property at 675 F Street. He stated a variance would have to be issued to allow Duncan to come within 10 feet of the property line instead of the required 25 feet. Clerk reported she had spoken to Dennis Baker and Dean Luff of the Christian Church and it would be discussed at their next Board meeting.
There were no public comments.
Clerk presented a plat map for J & R Tipken Subdivision, 4.32 acres (house and buildings); Crownover and Wilhelm affixed their signatures.
NEW BUSINESS
Clerk reminded Trustees of the Board of Equalization meeting on Monday, July 20, 2009. She stated property owners would have 50 days to pay the assessment, and then it would be certified and sent to the county. The next step will be bonding.

Wassenberg made a motion to pay claims, Schomerus seconded, all Trustees voted aye, absent and not voting: Stoner.
The list of delinquent water & sewer patrons was reviewed.
Correspondence included an inquiry about a maintenance position, repairs for street past the park, and SENDD information.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
