The Unadilla Area Fund met Tuesday morning, February 19, at the Community
Library to discuss Groundhog Day. Present: Corinne Zahn, Peggy Leefers, Sue
Saathoff, Glenda Willnerd, Bob Brandt and Barb Wilhelm. Everyone agreed we
had a great turnout despite the weather. Next meeting will be May14 at 10 a.m.

Spencer Bridgmon, Burton Brandt
Congratulations to Burton Brandt and Spencer Bridgmon for placing at the
State Wrestling Meet. Burton was 5th in 170# and Spencer was 6th in 113#.
Other qualifiers were Jace Goebel, 106#, Jeremy Marrero, 182#, and Zachary
Burr, 285#.

Condolences to the many family and friends of Ramona Henry Buttercase who
recently passed away. Ramona and her brother, Everett Baker, were a musical
duo that you could listen to for hours. They have left us with beautiful memories,
and what better legacy to leave.

Sunday afternoon, February 17, a joint meeting of Otoe County Legion Posts
and their Auxiliaries was held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church at Palmyra,
and was hosted by Post #195 and Auxiliary, of Palmyra. Posts and Units from
Nebr. City, Palmyra, Syracuse and Talmage were present. A joint memorial
service was held for deceased members and then Legion and Auxiliary members
separated to conduct business. The 100th anniversary of both organizations
was acknowledged and celebrations plans were discussed. District 12 Commander,
Bonnie Brewer, and District 12 President, Judy Schwab, were both in attendance.
Cookies and refreshments were served afterwards.

Friday, 2-21-1919, The Otoe Union:
W.H. Rorabeck was selling his milk cows and E.S. Carper was selling his
harness shop. Admission to the motion picture shows, held at the Town Hall,
were 20 cents for adults and 10 cents for children, war tax included in the price.
The "big wolf hunt" captured 4 wolves (were these coyotes?); about 275 men
participated and covered 4 sections of land southeast of Unadilla.

The United Methodist Church will celebrate its 125th anniversary on
Sunday, March 10, 2019, at 10:15, followed by a potluck dinner. If you
