Flags will be put up at the Unadilla Cemetery on Saturday, May 25th at 6 a.m.

and taken down Monday, May 27th at 7 p.m. Any help would be

Memorial Day Dinner 2019

 

Meet old friends here after the service at the Cemetery. Don't forget to visit

the History and Veterans Rooms. Our community would also like to thank

the Palmyra Legion for providing the memorial service at the Cemetery.

The Unadilla Area Fund met Tuesday, May 14th, at the Library. Those present:

Glenda Willnerd, Peggy Leefers, Sue Saathoff, Corinne Zahn, Bob Brandt and

Barb Wilhelm. Details for Unadilla Day were finalized with the Village and if you're

not busy that day, we could use some help for the BBQ. Let Corinne know if you're

having a garage sale so she can put your name on the list. There will be golf carts

giving rides to the BBQ and food will again be delivered to the elderly or those

confined at home. Call the Office if you want to be on the list at 402-828-5355.

Friday, 5-23-1919, The Otoe Union:

A portion of the 89th Division, the 355th Infantry, composed mostly of men from

Nebraska, was expected in New York Harbor on May 24th, on the transport

"Leviathon". Henry Guthals purchased 160 acres from Charlie Orton for $23,000.

Corn planting was finally done. Early homesteader, Allen W. Van Horn, died by

falling down basement steps. He was buried at Park Hill.
