SUMMER BEGINS JUNE 21ST!
Thank you to Rose Marie Brandt for her donation of her old band
uniform to the History Room. And to the family of Berdean West and
Jim & Marilyn Schreiner for their continued donations. The History and
Veterans Rooms will be open this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
along with the restrooms. Stop in!

Hope to see you this weekend at the Unadilla festivities. Keep
checking our FB page for the latest updates.
We can still use some more volunteers!

Some folks are just generous with their time and abilities: Thanks to
Bob Bryan for mowing roadside ditches and to Tom Block for cleaning
out the storm drain by the Park
.

Continued get well wishes for a speedy recovery to
Sandi Kimbell and Marvin Lucas.
Just a reminder: once you turn 65, you are eligible for the
senior discount rate on your garbage service!
Otoe County Genealogical Society members traveled to Tecumseh
Saturday, June 15, and toured the Johnson County Museum. What a
wonderful job these volunteers have done. The space is open and well
lit and they have done a fantastic job on the displays.

Then we went across the street onto the courthouse square and
looked at their new veterans memorial which was just dedicated last
month. It is so beautiful and thoughtfully laid out.

The heat finally got to us and we headed for the Lorton Lounge, where
we had a great lunch. The last couple of months we have connected
people from Maine, Louisiana and Australia to family and friends who
lived in Otoe County. It's a small world isn't it?
Sunday at the Christian Church started out with a potluck breakfast - so
much yummy food. After the sermon, the children gave a program about
fathers and then gave each father a birdhouse they had made. A special
honor was given to our oldest member, Roland Rodaway, and the
children gave him a walking stick made by the campers at Camp Kalaheo.
