2nd time blooming 250

So thankful the heat wave is over. We had 3.80" of rain and everything is green again.

The magnolia tree at the Western Wilhelm Outpost is blooming for the second time this

year. Bob Brandt says "It's just showing off!"

Thank you 2

Thanks to Dan Snider and Val Petersen for their donation of books to the Library and

the Farm Directory for the Resource Room. They are MOST appreciated!

Congratulations movement

Happy 74th anniversary to former residents Glen & Susie Wyatt, who will celebrate

August 1. They had lived their entire married life in Unadilla, until they moved to Syracuse

a few years back. Congratulations from all of us!

Just a reminder: Corinne is always happy to unlock the door of the Library for you so

you can check out books, audio books, magazines, etc. The Board is considering lending

out special occasion cake pans - isn't that a great idea!

 Jesse James 2 250

The Unadilla Area Fund is thrilled to announce the speaker for Groundhog Day will be

Jeff Barnes. His program is titled: "A Bad Man in a Good Place: Jessie James in Nebraska."

Did you know Jessie James has connections to Otoe County?

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

 1916 Model T

Friday, 7-26-1919, The Otoe Union:

The W.E. Bassett garage was now an "Authorized Ford Station" and would carry a

"full line of Ford tires and accessories at all times." "The new bank isn't progressing

very fast." (referred to the Farmer's State Bank located south of the old M.K. Meats

building.) Harvey Nash purchased the Elijah Luff home farm for $200 an acre. It was

homesteaded in 1857 by Luff.
