Home Nebraska

For those of you baffled by Nebrasa's new slogan: "On Tuesday, August 20, Nebraska Tourism received a 2019 Mercury Award at ETSO, the Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations powered by the U.S. Travel Association. The state's new campaign, "Nebraska. Honestly, it's not for everyone", won best Branding and Integrated Marketing Campaign, in front of an audience of 1100 at the event in Austin, Texas. "I can't remember a time when Nebraska won an award at ETSO, the congratulations we received from industry partners and colleagues was unbelievable," said John Ricks, Nebraska Tourism Commission executive director. "This is an honor and a big deal for the state of Nebraska."

Hoping you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. We celebrated our grandson's 13th birthday on Saturday, attended the Wagner family reunion at the Syracuse Fair Center on Sunday and replaced windows on Monday. Now we're ready for vacation!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

 mailbox 3

Friday, 9-5-1919, The Otoe Union:

"Ed Stanley is helping O.G. Stoner at the new meat market." Most of the residents had

been to the state fair. After he attended the editor referred to Otoe County as "the

garden spot of Nebraska." "The Yellow roses are in bloom in some fields over the county,

some call them "Texas Roses", we call them sunflowers."
