Here's hoping all your family makes it home for Thanksgiving safely and that you
have a wonderful time! Now starts the Christmas shopping frenzy. Please remember to
patronize local businesses this Saturday. And as you're cleaning out those closets for
places to hide those presents, remember you can donate those items at our hospital
thrift shop in Syracuse. They are celebrating their 12th year! Besides giving those items
a new life, they also donate to those in need at our local schools. Please tell them how
much you appreciate them during your next visit.
Continued get well wishes to Nina Rohlfs, Roland Rodaway, Sharon Baker and
Montana Bean. New wishes for Rose Duncan.

Sadly I've been told there will be no Santa mailbox in front of the Post Office this
year. Kids, you'll have to tell Santa in person!

Hope is alive and well in Nebraska - glad to see the Huskers add a win
to their record!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 11-28-1919, The Otoe Union:
E. Kammon sold his 200 acre farm to D. Knickman for $215/acre. The editor
stated, "The price of land continues to soar." (Wonder what they would think of
today's prices?) There was a huge coal shortage so most residents were
chopping down their trees for firewood.
