Rose Marie Brandt 500

Sunday at the Christian Church we celebrated Rose Marie Brandt's 95th birthday. And even though she was the honoree, that didn't stop her from playing the organ for the service. We learned that Rose started playing the piano for church when she could barely reach the pedals and then sometime in her 50's she started playing the organ for church. The family graciously invited everyone to the Duncan Building for lunch along with several others in the community. It was so much fun to look at all the photos and hear all the stories. Rose made an impression on me at an early age and how could you not love that chuckle? A lady always, with a smile and kind words, here's hoping there are many, many more. (The pipe organ is on loan from the Brandt family and was restored by Jane's husband, John Weber.)

Get well

New get well wishes to Jan Maloy, Glen Wyatt and Lois Johnson. Continued wishes to Gordon Hopp, Burton Brandt, Harvey Vogt, Nina Rohlfs and Dwight Kastens.

In the story I relayed last week about Lucas' nativity scene, Mary Wallen reports that she got a post card also!

Not a big fan of the groundhog? Celebrating something else out of the ordinary then?

Go to https://www.daysoftheyear.com  Feb. 1 is also: Baked Alaska Day, Bubblegum Day and Working

Naked Day. There are lots more and surely on of those will make you smile!
