Rattlesnake master 450

"Rattlesnake Masterr" is a wildflower growing on Main Street. It's leaves resemble the yucca plant and may grow 4 feet tall. It's drought tolerant and was used by Native Americans as an antidote for rattlesnake venom. It is a member of the carrot family and flowers in late summer. It is a unique species, which can be found in some local native prairies, and it's at the western edge of its native range. Thanks for pointing this out Bob Brandt!

Condolences to John Schwartman and his family, on the loss of his brother, Gary.

Happy 75th anniversary to former residents Glen & Susie Wyatt, who will celebrate August 1st. They lived their entire married life at Unadilla until moving to Syracuse a few years back. Due to their health and the pandemic, there will be no celebration. They love to receive mail, so the children are organizing a card shower for them. Their address is: 1669 Thorne Street, Syracuse, NE, 68446. Congratulations from all of us!

And congratulations to our grand-daughter, Maisie Hillman, who finally got to celebrate her high school graduation this past weekend. It's official now!
