As of Tuesday, August 18, there were 64 confirmed cases of Covid in Otoe County, 3 of those in Unadilla. Please, wear your masks! If you have Covid but no symptoms, you will keep someone else from getting it. I thank you in advance!
Thanks to Kevin Rippe and Bob Brandt for their work at the Community Center: trimming trees, removing old plantings, and planting new varietes. This is in the area around the front door. We appreciate it so much guys and thanks to the Unadilla Area Fund for contributing to the cause.

Thanks to Corinne Zahn for the photos!
Get well wishes to Methodist pastor, Dick Webster & family, Dan Anderson, and others who've been sick and we don't know about. Continued good thoughts to Rick Wassenberg.
Looking for a little trip to some different scenery. One of our favorites in the Humboldt Cancer Garden. What a hidden treasure! Well plannned and well kept, it honors so many folks who have struggled with or lost their lives to cancer. And provides shelters for quiet reflection or conversations. It is well worth the price of a tank of gas.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 8-20-1920, The Otoe Union:
John Brinkman, M.R. Stoner, and Nick Schreiner, all Russell Precinct, were chosen as jurors for the District Court. "Shoe repairing done every Saturday afternoon at the Fairmont Creamery." Holly Stoner was the new clerk at Horstman's Store.Minnie Clutter of Crab Orchard, was hired as the new teacher at Muddy Creek School. (Since this was in the "Hopewell" news, it may have been Dist. #42, which at one time was known as Hopewell School, but when my mother attended, it was called Mud Turtle College, and was known as such until it closed.)
