Remember to fly your flag on Wednesday, November 11, and thank a vet!

Thanks so much to the family of Helen Luff for donating her scrapbooks, clippings and funeral cards. They will be available in the Resource Room soon.

From our Cub Reporter, Bob Wilhelm:
"Unadilla's Nitty Gritty co-owner, Dan Anderson, is proudly displaying a special commemorative issue of Sports Illustrated magazine, "The Tom Osborne Era, 25 years of Nebraska Football", from January 1998. The cover of the magazine has a profile photo of "Coach" with his headset on and written on the cover is "To Dan, Nitty Gritty" and signed Tom Osborne.

How Dan came to possess this treasure is an interesting story. Dan, the consumate collector, had acquired two copies of this issue of the magazine. One of Dan's regular customers is Doug Glaser, a standout Husker football player, 1986-1989, was in Nitty Gritty one day. Knowing that Doug played for the Huskers, Dan gave Doug one of the copies. Doug was grateful to receive it, and sometime later, Doug returned and gave the magazine back to Dan. The cover was addressed to Dan and signed by the "Coach". Glaser told Dan that he had had lunch with the Coach and asked him to autograph the cover. Stop in sometime and see this treasure! "Asking Dan won't be a problem, as he has been yapping about it since it happened!" From a by-stander, "All the cool kids hang out in Unadilla, don't cha know!"

Congratulations to the Syracuse volleyball team: they are going to State! They beat Sidney at Kearney last Saturday in 5 sets. They play again today, Wednesday, November 4 at Pinnacle Bank arena after the 2:00 match. Way to go girls!!!

Then and now - where did the time go?
Get well wishes to everyone who's been sick, especially to the residents and workers at Good Samaritan. Our Covid count is now over 340 in Otoe County, with 11 cases in one day on two occasions. There are conflicting numbers on how many are active, and thankfully the death toll remains at 1. Looking ahead to 2021, there probably won't be a Groundhog celebration in Unadilla. We'll know more at the end of the year. Please let us know about any cancellations your group has.

Voting was reported "steady" at the Duncan Building in Unadilla by John Stilwell.

The Cornhusker Country Music Theater is gradually getting a NEW LOOK!
As of now, the top front is still old barn board, but there is a new, white metal awning where the old shake shingles used to be and below that, new, Cornhusker red, metal siding. Little by little, the whole front will have a new, fresher look.
