Get well wishes to those quarantined with Covid. Monday evening our total cases were 593, up 10 from the day before. Over 200 are active cases. Good grief folks, wear your masks!

Notice: The Thrift Store in Syracuse is closed until further notice due to the rise in Covid cases. They will not be taking donations either.

Saturday, November 14, the Nebraska Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers gave Quilts of Valor to 4 local veterans. We all thank you for your service guys.

Recently, we made a trip to some towns we hadn't been to in a long time. We visited Julian, Glen Rock Cemetery, Brock and Talmage. We thought Julian had changed the most. It was nice to see the apparent pride most residents in these communities take in their towns.

Sunday afternoon, we needed to get out and see something new. We turned south on Highway #2 where the sign says "Saltillo Road" and boy were we in for a surprise! As you meander around towards Highway #77, you can see the "Bypass Project" from all sides. The amount of dirt they have moved and the progress they've made so far is amazing! We still can't quite figure out exactly how it's going to join up but that will give us an excuse for another trip. We did notice they've changed the path of some roads and one farmstead now has a driveway almost a mile long. What I wouldn't have given to have my Dad in the backseat explaining it all! (There is drone footage of the project on the NDOT website, which was taken in September.)

Then we ventured to the racetrack at Denton. They've made some changes there, and then drove to the town of Denton. Oh my gosh, so many new houses on both sides of the road! We had forgotten there was a monastery there. Wandering back to Lincoln, we went past Lee's Chicken and all the construction going on around there. Did you know they've built a hotel across the road from it? It was a fun afternoon but as always, it was good to get back home.

 Rest in peace

Sad to report that former Unadilla resident, Wesley Botsford, passed away 11-14-2020, at home. He was 88. There will be a graveside service at Lincoln Memorial Park on 11-20. Condolences to family and friends.

2020 10 04 New look CCMT 1 400

The Cornhusker Country Music Theater is gradually getting a NEW LOOK!

As of now, the top front is still old barn board, but there is a new, white metal awning where the old shake shingles used to be and below that, new, Cornhusker red, metal siding. Little by little, the whole front will have a new, fresher look.

The CCMT is a nonprofit organization that operates solely on the tax-deductible donations of generous donors.

Admission to all of our live, family-friendly shows is only $4 for all those over 13 and FREE to those younger.

We have a small dance floor and encourage you to bring your friends and loved ones to join us for a good, clean, old-fashioned musical experience.
