Please read folks:

Operation Lifesaver 495

FYI: The line that runs through Unadilla is known as the Arbor line.

Here's hoping you have a safe Thanksgiving. We know it's hard to be isolated, but hopefully it will save someone from getting this awful virus. Then starts the Christmas frenzy; we know a lot will be purchased online. But, please remember to patronize your local businesses if you can. And, as you're cleaning out those closets for places to hide those presents, remember you can donate those items at our hospital thrift shop in Syracuse. They are celebrating their 13th year! They are closed right now, but hopefully they'll be able to open again soon. Besides giving those items a new life, they also donate to those in need at our local schools. Please tell them how much you appreciate them during your next visit.

Get well wishes to those of you quarantined at home. Otoe County has now passed 600 cases. We are thankful there are only 2 deaths.

The Village would like to welcome Clayton Dowling to the maintenance team and Jake Unruh to the Planning Commission Board. Will try to get photos!

From Papillion Sanitation:

We will be closed on Thanksgiving Thursday, November 26. Trash pickup will be running one day behind; Thursday pickup will be on Friday and Friday pickup will be on Saturday. Normal times will resume the following week. Have a happy and safe holiday.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

 Man reading newspaper 250

Friday, 11-26-1920, The Otoe Union:

R.A. Lincoln opened a drug store again in his old building. "P.B. Hair and Guy Dean had a shooting match supplying the country with turkeys, geese and ducks." Dr. Wilson, of the State Board of Health, came down from Lincoln and diagnosed the sickness here as smallpox. Prof. A.W. Edling of the Unadilla school, was married to Grace Asa of Brock. They would live in Unadilla.

2020 10 04 New look CCMT 1 400

The Cornhusker Country Music Theater is gradually getting a NEW LOOK!

As of now, the top front is still old barn board, but there is a new, white metal awning where the old shake shingles used to be and below that, new, Cornhusker red, metal siding. Little by little, the whole front will have a new, fresher look.

The CCMT is a nonprofit organization that operates solely on the tax-deductible donations of generous donors.

Admission to all of our live, family-friendly shows is only $4 for all those over 13 and FREE to those younger.

We have a small dance floor and encourage you to bring your friends and loved ones to join us for a good, clean, old-fashioned musical experience.
