Only 2 more weeks until Spring! And with that will come the beginning of softball/baseball season. Some teams are beginning practice. It also means increased activity down at and around the ballpark. Please remember the intersection by the Park is now a 4-way stop. Be on the lookout for our kids!

Thanks Arliss Wassenberg for the advertising items. They will be at home in the Resource Room.

Our past Groundhog Queen, Rachel Zieger, continues to promote the end of Daylight Savings Time. She describes how difficult this change is for smaller children and adults with dementia problems, not to mention how it goofs up car clocks, fit bits, and all sorts of devices! If Arizona and New Mexico can do it, why can't we? Keep up the fight Rachel!!!

My husband, Bob, was born at the "new" Syracuse Hospital in June, 1952. Fifty years later, our granddaughters were also born there. Sad to say, it is no more.

Isn't this weather a nice change from last week? We'll probably pay for it before the month is over: there's an 80% chance of a blizzard predicted for the last week of March. This IS Nebraska!

Please share your news with us as we have lots of former residents who like to know what's going on in the old hometown!

Speaking of former residents, Betty Wallen, and our former neighbor, will turn 90 on April 6th. If you would like to send her a card, her address is: Villages of Jackson Creek, 3980 S. Jackson Drive, Independence, MO 64057. Sure she'd love to hear from you!

The stats for Covid are all over the place. We had 3 days in a row with no new cases in Otoe County and then one day with 10 cases. The latest update from SE Health Dept. shows 87 active cases in Otoe County and 10 deaths. Lots have had the first shot or are about to get it and several got their second shot this week. Please stay vigilant and wear those masks!

Spring ahead

Don't forget to "Spring Forward" on Saturday night.

Baby boy

Congratulations to Ron & Shirley Conradi, who are new grandparents again! Rory James Conradi was born 3-4-2021 to James & Justine Conradi. Rory weighed in at 8 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19" long. He has an older brother, Roman. Mom and Rory are home and doing great!

For those of you who might be traveling through Murray, especially for work, etc.

Demolition of the old railroad bridge on Highway 1 in Murray started March 1st.  One lane traffic is being electronically controlled, so please be patient at the lights when waiting, then driving through. Work is expected to continue through the summer months, so plan your travel accordingly. Be careful, watch for workers and machinery and make safety the priority.

Country Music Friends,

Regrettably, although in the best interest of all of our patrons and performers, due to the covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel all shows for the foreseeable future.

It's our hope that 2021 brings good health to everyone and we can reopen to get back to some good ol' country music with our friends.

Thank you for your continued support.
