4th of July 3 200

Hope your 4th of July allowed a family gathering and some celebrating. We enjoyed having our family together in more than a year. It's the best medicine!

The garbage schedule for this week will remain the same. Remember, if you're 65 or older, you're entitled to a lower rate on your garbage bill.

Although the threat from Covid 19 is not over, Otoe County has not had any reported cases in over 30 days. Wonderful news! Please remember to keep a mask handy though, and remember, Nebraska is still less than 50% vaccinated.

Another blast from the past, thanks to a scrapbook from Gene & Berdean West.

The ribbon cutting for the Barbara Shop, later to become K & L Arcade, and then the Village Office. The date of the issue is April 4, 1991.

Friday, 7-8-1921, The Otoe Union:

"Make O.G. Stoner's soft drink parlor your headquarters Chautauqua Week. STONER'S MEAT MARKET and ICE CREAM PARLOR." R.A.
