An old Irish custom has families opening the front door on New Year's Eve to let out the old year and let in the new year. Some one has suggested that we open all the doors and windows to welcome 2022. Can you believe that after nearly 2 years we are still losing folks to Covid?
Last Wednesday afternoon was a scary one! The Lincoln Airport recorded winds of 93 MPH. We don't know if it was high winds or a tornado that did so much damage around here. There are SO many trees down and out buildings like machine sheds and barns that took a beating.

Across from the park on Hwy #2, a semi was blown over on its side. No one was injured that we know of, so that's good news! Thanks to those who helped the driver get out.

Besides shingles blown off the barn, the only damage we had at our place was part of the old mulberry tree got torn off next to the road. Thanks to Gary Scheeler for cutting it up for firewood and hauling it away, and to Titus Ganger and son for getting the debris into our burn pile.

A huge thank you to the doctors and nurses who keep plugging away. We know you're tired and it has to be so hard to show up every day, but please know we appreciate you!

We've had several small paving projects around town. Please watch for the barricades!

Get well wishes to all those who have been ill. We've seen some activity around Steve Kroese's house and are hoping that after a year, he'll be coming home soon!
