Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night!
Village Board meeting tonight (Wednesday)
7:30 p.m. in the Library
The Food Bank distribution had a good crowd last Wednesday. They served 95 families. Just because the weather is getting nicer doesn't mean there aren't still families struggling. Thanks to all that helped. And also a big thank you to the folks who continue to be involved with Meals on Wheels in our town. It's also a blessing to folks.

Mark your calendars for Monday, March 21, at 2 p.m. Nina Jean Rohlfs and her band, Three Chords & a Cloud of Dust will be playing in the gym at the Community Center. It's always a fun time, and there's even room to dance. No charge!

So sad to report the passing of Mary Gergen Wellman, SHS Class of 1967. Condolences to her many family and friends. She was a sweet, kind-hearted woman.
Sunday night the SHS Wrestling banquet was held. It's been quite a season! We are going to brag a little on Barret Brandt: He was the MVP, had the most wins (43), the most pins (35), 40+ wins in a season (43), and reached over 100 wins in his career! Congratulations Barret!

Please share your news with us as we have lots of former residents who like to know what's going on in the old hometown!
You'll find the Regular Board Meeting Minutes from February under the Village Office tab above.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 3-10-1922, The Otoe Union:
"We serve the best sandwiches and short orders. STONER & WATTS." Several residents were sufferering either from the "grippe" or the flu. A second filling station was to be erected by a Mr. Coryell, location unknown. (The one I mentioned last week WAS located on the curve on the west side of town. That road was designated as a federal highway and ran through Main Street and on to Syracuse.) A Dr. Williams, from Hampton, NE, bought the drug store and would take possession immediately.
