
The Unadilla Area Fund met Tuesday, March 8, at the Duncan Building. Those present: Emily Rumery, Bob Brandt, Maureen Vogt, Peggy Leefers and Barb Wilhelm. The All Fund Drive was discussed as was Groundhog Day activities. It was decided to reimburse the Village for $5116 for the new furnace in the gym. Thank you notes were signed for the donations from the Kimmel and Glaser Foundations. Peggy Leefers said she is retiring from the board and hopes some younger folks will join. New projects and programs were discussed. Results of the election of officers: Bob Brandt, President, Maureen Vogt, Vice President, Donna Crownover, Secretary, and Kristi Buller, Treasurer. Next meeting: May 10, 7:00 p.m., Community Library. Mark your calendars now - next year's Groundhog Celebration is 2-4-2023!

Have you considered joining our Fire & Rescue Squad? The meetings are the second Monday of the month at the Fire Hall. They can always use your help.

Display honoring deceased Legion & Auxiliary members from the past year.
Saturday the District Legion & Auxiliary convention was held at Hickman. Those attending from Post #100: Ed Reed, Bob Wilhelm, and Lois Johnson.

March is Poison Prevention month. Have you checked your medicine cabinets and cupboards for outdated medicines or chemicals? Is there anything in reach of small hands? Better safe than sorry!

Mark your calendars for Monday, March 21, at 2 p.m. Nina Jean Rohlfs and her band, Three Chords & a Cloud of Dust will be playing in the gym at the Community Center. It's always a fun time, and there's even room to dance. No charge!

Just a reminder that dog licenses expire on April 30th. Please have a current copy of your dog's rabies vaccination certificate when you renew. The fee is still $5.00 per animal. Also for new residents, the Village Office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Their phone number is 402-828-5355.

Friday, 3-17-1922, The Otoe Union:
"O.G. Stoner's mail rig broke down out on the route Friday, and he had to call his deputy, Chester Isaacs, to help him complete the service." Marjorie West was teaching in Dunbar. A marriage license was issued to Fred J. Miller and Mabel Roberts. Kathryne Marie (Smith) Cowel died and was buried in the Unadilla Cemetery. She was the wife of John, who was the Unadilla station agent for the C.B. & Q. Railroad, and the mother of Arthur, Mrs. F.A. Young, Albert, and Anna.
