Wow! Started off with a bang and busted all the brackets!!!
Friday night, March 18, Post #100 Legion & Auxiliary members gathered at the Syracuse Country Club, to honor those with milestone memberships. After a great meal, catered by Valentino's, the awards were presented. It was a fun evening catching up with everyone we hadn't seen for a few years. Thanks to Bev Wilhelm, who did the Auxiliary presentation, and Bob Wilhelm and Ed Reed, who did the Legion presentation. Congratulations to all! Hope to see you all again next year!

Get well wishes to everyone who's been under the weather, taking treatments, or in the hospital. It seems the flu is pretty nasty this year and has been making the rounds locally.
There will be a Unadilla BBQ this year! Watch this site and our Unadilla Bill FB page for more details about it, Clean Up day, and the city-wide garage sales.

This is supposed to be a Christmas cactus....cared for by Maisie Hillman.
Village Maintenance would like to remind everyone that the only things accepted at the burn pile are trees, branches, and unfinished lumber (no nails). NO LEAVES OR GARBAGE PLEASE! They could make us lose our permit with the state, and then there would be no burn pile.

There was a very interesting article in the Lincoln Journal Star last week written by Peter Salter. It concerned the Maargraten, The Netherlands, American Cemetery. In the early 70's, my husband Bob, was stationed near there. We were always impressed that each grave was adopted by a Dutch family, cared for by them, and decorated by them. The MP's, and sometimes Bob, from Bob's base, participated in the Memorial Day service every year. There are 102 Nebraskans buried there. A few years back, the adopting families decided to further honor these men by displaying a photo of them. They have collected 101 Nebraskan's photos. They can't find one of Dorral Bundy Elliott. "The 29-year-old was killed in 1945, 3 years after enlisting in Lincoln." If by chance, you know this family, please contact Mr. Salter.
