Wow, did we have a good turnout for the Food Bank last Wednesday! 186 people were served and the truck ran out of just about everything. Thanks Bob Wilhelm and Keith Kimbell for helping out.
Get well wishes to everyone who has been ill or in the hospital. Unfortunately we are still dealing with corona virus after all this time. This (below) is for Lancaster County, Nebraska.

Did you know that Nebraska has aquifers below it? If poured over the surface of the state, the water would be 37.9 feet deep. The state has nearly 10,000 registered and active wells; 445,000 acres of cropland is irrigated.
The Village Board meeting minutes for 8-10-2022 are now available under the Village Office tab above.
This photo was taken Wednesday evening, 9-7, by Bob Brandt near the home of Tony Engelbrecht, on old Highway #2. It shows the effect of all the smoke in the air from the western wildfires and continued for a couple more days. Allergy sufferers beware!

The events of 9 -11 are always painful to remember, but this year we noticed most of the coverage was on the passing of Britain's Queen Elizabeth. I guess that's understandable, since she'd been on the throne for 70 years. Many residents in this area trace their ancestry back to England, and we all will be watching the results of the new monarchy.
