VILLAGE BOARD MEETING TONIGHT (Wednesday)
7:00 p.m. at the Community Center Library
Another great turnout at the Food Bank last week, 122 people! Thanks so much to helpers, Keith Kimbell, Bob Wilhelm, Corinne Zahn, and Janet Oelke. Couldn't do it without them!
If you haven't been to Indian Cave State Park, now is a great time to go. The leaves are turning, they've made a lot of improvements, and they're decorating for Halloween. Always a fun trip!

From Steve Vodicka in response to "stack threshing": "In the long ago years of working on the farm (you could still see this in the 70's in the sandhills), the wheat was placed in large stacks (piles). They then brought the thresher out to the field and ran the hay through it. We had one of the original threshing machines on the farm back in the 60's. (It didn't work anymore, but it was a great battleship!)". Thanks Steve!
Condolences to the many family and friends of Harvey Stoner, Jr., on the passing of his wife Joan. Also, to the Teresa Liesemeyer family and friends on the passing of her grandson, Kody Berner. Mel Bolte also passed, and you may remember him buying and turning Clark's Service Station into a convenience store.
Improvements are starting on the modular home that was hit by the tornado.
Wasn't the Nebraska game a squeker Friday night? Who cares, we won!
Seeing a lot more cornstalk bales around Otoe County.
Unadilla Area Fund meeting is next Tuesday night, October 18, 7:00 p.m. in the Community Center Library. All are welcome!
Please show your support! These folks have been so busy this year, and lately, with the field fires.
