VILLAGE BOARD MEETING TONIGHT (WEDNESDAY)
7:30 p.m. at the Village Library
The minutes from last month's meeting, 10-12-2022 can be found by clicking on the Village Office tab above and then on Meeting Minutes.

The volunteers for the Food Bank last week report 105 families were helped. Thanks to the Lincoln Food Bank and the volunteers for continuing this helpful program.
Sunday afternoon, Bob and I, and my sister Mary Hanke, attended the Nebraska Society DAR America 250! Marker dedication service at Omaha's Memorial Park. It was done with honor to dedicate the marker, and was great to meet all the folks involved. We are truly honored to be part of the Mary Kathrine Goddard Chapter of the DAR at Omaha. All those involved should be applauded for their work on this project.

The permanent marker.

Sons of the American Revolution also participated in the ceremony.
If you're in Omaha with time on your hands, Memorial Park is located at 6005 Underwood Avenue, Omaha. There are many memorials to different wars and their participants located there. Especially moving was the one made of simple bricks honoring those killed at the Kabul Airport and the one dedicated to those soldiers who used parachutes to join the battles, as so many of them died on the way down.

Those killed at the Kabul Airport on August 26, 2021.

Honoring those who join the battle by parachute.
Many thanks to Bob Wilhelm for the photos.

Make sure you take a second look at the railroad tracks. The trains are very long and still do not have a specific schedule.

According to the Village Dog Ordinance, when your dog leaves your property it should be on a leash. If you walk it or let it run in the playground area of the Community Center or at the Park, it is YOUR responsibility to clean up the poop. Please consider others who use these facilities.

Get well wishes to Marvin & Jean Lucas and to any others who are ill or in the hospital.

The photo of the house we shared last week was the home of John Brummer. It was torn down by Leonard Lemka and is where he built his new house. Still don't know who the man was.
