Friday evening, March 17th, the Syracuse Amerrican Legion Post #100 honored members who had reached milestone years of continuous membership in the American Legion, at the Syracuse Country Club. A dinner of corned beef and cabbage was followed by a ceremony to recognize members who have reached milestone years of continuous membership with certificates and lapel pins.

Legion Auxiliary members were also honored.
Bev Wilhelm, Jenice Bates, Carol Rystrom. Carol was honored for 40 years membership.

Jenice Bates awarded certificate of appreciation from Bev Wilhelm, for her many years of service in the Legion Auxiliary.
This train sat on the tracks just west of Unadilla nearly the whole day Monday.
Get well wishes to everyone who's been under the weather, taking treatments, or in the hospital. SO ready for spring!
Village Maintenance would like to remind everyone that the only things accepted at the burn pile are trees, branches, and unfinished lumber (no nails.) NO LEAVES OR GARBAGE PLEASE! They could make us lose our permit with the state, and then there would be no burn pile. Thanks in advance.
Dirt work is being done preparing for the addition to the Unadilla Fire Station in the near future.

Friday, 3-23-1923, The Otoe Union:
Mr. & Mrs. Harry Scarborough had moved onto the farm vacated by Ed Mayes, one mile west of Hopewell church. Several members of the Meyers family had the mumps. A severe blizzard swept the county. Finley Stoner died and was buried in the Bennet cemetery. Otoe County led all counties in Nebraska in the production of red clover in 1922.
