Everyone is invited to attend the "Big Groundhog Welcome" on Wednesday, January 31, at 6:30 p.m. in the Duncan Building to meet all the new families in the Unadilla Area. At 7:00 p.m., head over to Mal's and kick off the celebration and fundraiser for all King & Queen candidates. Door prizes and drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m. The door prizes are sponsored by Countryside Bank. Raffle tickets will also be available, with proceeds going to the Unadilla Library. Four $300 prizes will be drawn just before the Groundhog Day Parade in the Duncan Building. Mal's Bar & Grill, Nitty Gritty Gas & Thrift, MK Meats, and Countryside Insurance Agency LLC will sponsor the prizes
Collection jars for candidate donations will be available at Nitty Gritty, also "the Home of the prognosticator Unadilla Bill" (retired after 33 years.) There will also be jars at Mal's, the home of Unadilla Billie, who will be forecasting the weather for the next 6 weeks on Main Street, February 2, 2024, at approximately 7:33 a.m. A pot luck breakfast will follow in the Duncan Building!

Harris Camp 1528, Modern Woodmen of America, installed their new officers. T.A. Armstrong, who lived south of Unadilla on the Kime farm, quit farming and was selling all his equipment. The Women's Club meeting was held at the home of Lizzie Doyle, the topic being "First Settlements." The next meeting would be at Mrs. Coy Stoners'.
