VILLAGE BOARD MEETING TONIGHT (Wednesday)

Approximately 120 families were served at the Food Bank distribution Friday afternoon. Thank you to Bob Wilhelm, Galen Crawford, Craig Kimbell, Dale Henke, Mary Wallen, Andrew Kimbell, John Golden, Margaret Wertman, Mark Clem, and Jerry Wallen. Linda Liesemeyer delivered items to those who do not drive. SO proud to live in this community with all these caring and helpful folks!
Friday night we attended "Escanaba in da Moonlight" by Jeff Daniels, performed at the Lofte Community Theatre. It was delightful and we had lots of good laughs. Our favorite actor, Jamion Biesterfeld, played the character Remnar, showed off his red union suit, and drank his Hamm's beer with gusto! It only runs through Sept. 15th, so don't miss your chance! And make sure to check out their upcoming schedule.

Well, Fall isn't officially here yet, but we can see it! Sunday morning it was 45 degrees!
We still have hummingbirds at the Western Wilhelm Outpost (and plenty of sparrows of course!), but our Oriole feeder gets used less and less every day.
Just a reminder that the weight room and gym at the Community Center can be used for all kinds of exercise, or in the case of bad weather, a chance to stretch your legs! The fee is $25 per person or $75 per family, per year. You now will need a code to enter the exercise room, which can be obtained from Tiffany in the Village Office.

Friday, 9-12-1924, The Otoe Union:
30 students were enrolled in the High School. "Nina Whitney, Agnes Horstman, Iva Taylor, Marjorie West, Lenora Paulsen, Ruth Bassett, Hilda Wellman, Madge West, Mattie Taylor, Mabel Wall, Anne Meyer, Marie Wall, Mina Goering, Leona Judkins, Wilma Rorabeck, and Alta McDaniels", had all qualified to play in the high school tennis tournament. At the Village Board meeting, $114.87 was approved in expenses. "Alton Hair left for New York City, where he will take a medical course."
