SDA always does a great job honoring local veterans. The letter written to Bob by Paxton Rudolph was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The program on Monday morning was also great, the band and choir doing an outstanding job. The speaker was Ron Helton, who served in the Air Force and Army Guard for 32 years. If you see him, thank him for his service!

Congratulations to Chuck Bjork, who recently received a Quilt of Valor.

Many of you have probably heard about the amazing journey of Gerri Eisenhauer-Larson and finding her father's grave. She will be speaking this Sunday, November 17th, at the Fair Center, beginning at 2 p.m.

Rest in peace

Our condolences to the many family and friends of Larry Larson, who has passed away. You may remember him as co-owner of M.K. Meats for many years, and just an all around good guy. He will be missed by many. Larry's funeral will be this Thursday, November 14th.

What a great birthday party Glen Isaacs! We saw a lot of old friends and it was so great to catch up with everyone! The old photos weren't bad either...what a hoot!

Thank you Michele Wilhelm for tickets to the play "Blood Relations" at the Nebraska Wesleyan University Enid Miller Theatre this past Sunday. All 10 of our family were able to make it. We didn't know what to expect from a play that advertised "continued speculation about who committed the murders" that Lizzie Borden was accused of and later  prosecuted for. In real life, she was acquitted.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

 Paperboy 250

Friday, 11-14-1924, The Otoe Union:

"Kenneth Russell, Clark Bassett, James Judkins, Floyd Isaacs, Wayne West, Misses Marie Sasseen and Clara Seiplemeyer, who are attending school in Syracuse, enjoyed two days vacation this past week." (Unadilla didn't have 12th grade yet.) Grandview School, District #85, was having a program and box supper; Augusta Kruger was the teacher. George Brandt visited the school in his WWI uniform "to bring his souvenirs, pictures, and a collection of good stories to the students."

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.  Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
