Happy 4th of July 500

We've had a lot of rain this past week and we can't bring ourselves to complain! Don't think it will interfere with 4th of July celebrations. And remember the Village Office will be closed that day.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Boy reading newspaper 250

Friday, 7-3-1925, The Otoe Union:

Dorothy Capsey, daughter of Rev. Capsey, sent a telegram to her parents, who were visiting in England, asking permission to get her hair "bobbed"! Henry Massie,George Rose, and Jack Callaway, went on a fishing trip. As usual, all the big ones got away! Farmers were reporting considerable damage from Chinch bugs. It seemed to be a big concern of the editor that the two banks in Palmyra merged.
