We've had a lot of rain this past week and we can't bring ourselves to complain! Don't think it will interfere with 4th of July celebrations. And remember the Village Office will be closed that day.

90+ families were served at the Food Bank distribution this past Monday. Those helping distribute food were Margaret Wertman, Mary Wallen, Jerry Wallen, Galen Crawford, Craig Kimbell, Mark Clem, Steve Kroese, Dale Henke, and Bob Wilhelm. What a great bunch of dedicated volunteers!!!

Sounds like fun...see you there!

Bob Wilhelm would like to thank everyone for their continued donations of used medical equipment to the Post Home in Syracuse. Just when he thinks the garage is too full, someone borrows a bunch and they need more!

The Salt Valley Shooting competition took place this weekend near Unadilla. Large crowd!!!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 7-3-1925, The Otoe Union:
Dorothy Capsey, daughter of Rev. Capsey, sent a telegram to her parents, who were visiting in England, asking permission to get her hair "bobbed"! Henry Massie,George Rose, and Jack Callaway, went on a fishing trip. As usual, all the big ones got away! Farmers were reporting considerable damage from Chinch bugs. It seemed to be a big concern of the editor that the two banks in Palmyra merged.

Save the dates! Otoe County Fair!
August 1 - 4, 2025
