PARADE LINE UP AT 1:00 P,M, - PARADE BEGINS AT 2:00 P.M.
Saturday evening, January 31st, 45 members and guests of the Syracuse Legion, VFW, and their Auxiliaries, gathered at the Syracuse Country Club for their annual Christmas party. A wonderful meal was catered by Valentino's from Nebraska City. We were entertained by the very talented Bakan Family. James played the guitar, while daughters Hadley and Hazel played violins. They played our national anthem followed by several Christmas-themed songs. It was excellent!!!
The Food Bank will be at the Village Park this Friday from 2 - 3 p.m.
All are welcome!

Friday, 2-5-1929, The Otoe Union:
John Schwartman died. He was the father of 8 children and husband of Emma (Buchholz), and was laid to rest in the Unadilla Cemetery. The average temperature for January was 28.1 degrees, and the total precipitation was .79 inches. Lizzie Doyle published her qualifications to teach school stating "this is not to show off, but simply for protection." (After much research, I could not find what this related to.)
