This past week was Jack Stilwell's funeral with burial at the Unadilla Cemetery. Jack was a World War II Veteran and life long Unadilla area resident and farmer. He was a member of the Palmyra Nash-Jensen American Legion Post 195 and the Syracuse VFW Mid-County Post 5547. The military rites were performed by members of both Posts. To further honor Jack, his ceremonial rifle was placed upon a black cloth on the ground. This was reminiscent of the missing man fly-over formation. Taps were blown by Darren Donovan. The firing squad members were Terry Springer, Craig Knake, Gerry Davis, Ed Reed, Dean Speth and Al Jones. Well done!
There was a huge crowd in attendance for Groundhog Day, celebrated on Saturday, February 7th. Enjoy the photos!
