Friday, 3-5-1926, The Otoe Union:
John W. Bassett, Sr., and John W. Bassett, Jr., and son, of Unadilla, were in Syracuse on business. Winners of the town spelling contest were: Edith Crownover, 1st, and Herbert Wall, 2nd, in the written contest. Herbert Wall was 1st and Lloyd Wallen was 2nd in the oral contest. Judges were Mrs. Hiram Gorsage, Mrs. G.W. Darner, and Mrs. Holly Luff.
