Keith & Sandi Kimbell, Bob & Barb Wilhelm, Mary Hanke,
Larry Elofson, Michele Hillman, and Nikki Beaterfelt traveled
to Schilling Bridge Winery at Pawnee City for the "Murder Mystery".
The show was hilarious, the food was great, and the wine made it worth
the trip. There was also some sampling of "Git-R-Done" beer.
At a nearby table was a group from Syracuse: Chris & Nikki
Lutjemeyer, Darci & Mark Carlson, Tracy & Kenny Reuter, Brian
& Michelle Meyer, and the "Doctor" Jerry & Dawn Kastens.
We also ran into old Unadilla resident, Randy Baker and his wife Rheta.

GROUNDHOG DAY SHORT STORY WINNER
"Groundaria"
by Rachel Griswell
This family is not your usual family story. This is about a
very nice groundhog family from Italy. One day when they all were
in their home sitting by the fire when the father had a great idea!
His idea was so great, that his family went to work right away.
Did I mention the family's names? The 5 year old
beautiful little girl named Sabrina, the son's name is Grant,
he is 12, the mother's name is Molly, and the great father's name
is Bill.
Now time for you to find out the great idea
that Bill had, to open the first pizza restaurant in the
groundhog world. I know what you're thinking, hasn't the pizza
restaurant already been invented? And to that I tell you yes,
but think, this is a pizza restaurant underground and you know
that there aren't many restaurants under ground.
The pizza restaurant was named Ground-aria.
The restaurant wasn't a big hit at first, but as time went on
the little family owned restaurant was a great hit.
This family was not the richest family,
but the restaurant changed all of that. For the first time
the kids got allowances and the parents were sure that their
children would go to college.
There was only one problem. The ovens
were solar powered ovens for all the pizza ovens.
So they couldn't open again until spring. They had no
income and their bills were starting to pile up.
Then one day Bill, the dad, stuck his head
above ground and what did he see? The sun! He popped back
down to tell the family that they could finally start making
pizza again.
After the sun finally showed up, the pizza
restaurant was very busy again. Even some of the most
famous groundhogs came to the restaurant like Jessica
Squekson, the Donut Brothers, and the Incredible Hog
came to Ground-aria.
Epilogue:
The restaurant now belongs to the grandkids of Sabrina
and Grant. And the new restaurant owners look forward
to spring every year.
