AS OF MONDAY NOON I LOST MY CONNECTION AT

THE VILLAGE OFFICE, SO I'M WRITING THIS FROM HOME.

HOWEVER, EVERY TIME I INSERT A PHOTO OR CLIPART,

INTERNET EXPLORER SHUTS DOWN AND I LOSE EVERYTHING.

IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM,

PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

through part of July for reorganization and rearrangement due to the

school building closing. Watch this newsletter to announce the date

for the grand re-opening of a "new" adult and children's library for

your community, with many new selections to choose from. We need lots

of volunteers after the July 4th weekend to get it ready. If you would

like to help, call 828-5725 or contact the Village Office at 828-5355.

Thursday, May 13th, Barb Wilhelm, Christie Brehm, and Mary Boardman

Hanke, attended the "Wyuka Walk" at Nebraska City. It was sponsored

by the Otoe County Genealogical Society and had about 38 attendees.

Don Hegr gave a most interesting talk and tour, and even though the

weather was on the chilly side, everyone enjoyed it immensely.

__________

Wednesday evening, May 19th, Steve Vodicka gave the Board and

Clerk ICS and NIMS training. The two courses would help establish

chain of command, record keeping, emergency procedures, etc, and help

the community meet state and federal requirements in case of an

emergency such as an ice storm or tornado. After completing the tests,

we hope to have 100% certification. Thanks so much Steve, for

volunteering your time!

Bob & Barb Wilhelm went to Iowa to visit the Scott Hitzemann family

over the weekend. How little ones can change in four weeks time!

They're still planting beans there, too. On the way home, they visited

Sugar Clay Winery, near Thurmon, Iowa. It was a nice break from the

Interstate traffic. Tucked away in the hills, it was a little tricky to find,

but well worth the trip.

Flags will be put up at the cemetery, Saturday, May 29th. If you want to

help, please contact Keith Kimbell. They will be taken down Monday
