The Unadilla Cemetery Board would like to thank everyone

who helped put up and take down flags for Memorial Day.

We wouldn't be able to do it without such great volunteers!

Jean Lucas reports that the Unadilla Alumni Banquet was held at the

Duncan Building, Saturday, May 29, with the classes of 1948 and 1949

as hosts. Jean (Holscher) Lucas, Lillie (Callaway) Rockenbach, Ted

Halvorsen, Dick Mohlman, and Donna (Callaway) Thoms represented

those classes. There were 37 in attendance. There were no members

of the classes of 1935 or 1940. Arvilla (Kuenning) Noerrlinger

and Robert Fey represented the class of 1945. Marvin Lucas from

the class of 1950. Kate (Botsford) Callaway, Larry Halvorsen,

Dale Isaacs, and Janice (Helm) Thomson attended from the class of

1955. Potted miniature roses of various colors decorated the tables

and were given as door prizes. A football game was played and the

video of the school in the 1940's was watched. Next years dinner

will be at the Duncan Building on May 28, 2011, and will be hosted by

the class of 1955

Bob & Barb Wilhelm attended the ballgame between the

Syracuse Steelers and Weeping Water Saturday morning.

Sadly, it was close but our team lost.

Sam T. Remington has a new baby sister who arrived Monday,

June 7, weighing in at 6 lbs 15 oz and was 20 inches long.

Everyone is doing well, not sure about the name, but Sammy

thinks Mikey would be a good one! Grandparents are Keith

& Sandi Kimbell and great-grandparents are Gene & Berdean

West and Verneda Kimbell, all Unadilla.

Bob Wilhelm received the news that Wilson Wilhelm,

Villisca, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 5. He was the last

living sibling of Vernon Wilhelm and would have been 94.

Bob & Barb Wilhelm set off in search of the Helena Cemetery Sunday

afternoon, but first found the Wilcox Cemetery, which is, as near as

they could tell is about a mile directly north of Helena Cemetery.

It was an interesting and informative trip, with lots of good photos

taken. Look for them on Find-A-Grave.

J.H. Kelly was repainting the Commercial House. A son was born to

Ira Rhotens'. The men's ball team was organized: Judge E.S. Carper,

manager, Taylor Graham, captain, Cliff Durbin, asst. captain, players:

Elmer Sedam, Cliff Durbin, Fred Young, Ray Young, Allie Carney,

Sumner Farnsworth, Ed Fey, John Miller, and Ira Rhoten.

elderly millionaire. "Heaven Can Wait" has all the ingredients of a

lighthearted comedy while also asking important questions about

life and true love.

The Otoe County Genealogical Society will host its June 10th meeting

at the Otoe County Museum of Memories at 366 Poplar Street in

Syracuse at 7:00 pm. There will be a short meeting, and will then be

sorting and catalogings hundreds of 150 year-old criminal and civil

case files from the Otoe County District Courthouse, and

establishing a searchable database for future research. The

museum's genealogical reference area will also be open to anyone

who wishes to research his/her family history.

Fiddle Camp for beginners is Monday, June 14 - Friday, June 18.

Includes basics and fun fiddling. Fiddling styles include

bluegrass, Cajun, Irish, Klezmer, old-time, and newly

composed pieces by the campers. Movement and

singing are included in the experience.

Fiddle Camp for Inermediate/Advanced is Monday,

 July 12 - Friday, July 16.

King_Arthurs_Quest

Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of

"King Authur's Quest" will be held on Monday, June 14,

from 10 am to 12 pm at the Lofte. There are roles for students

entering 1st through 7th grade. There is not cost - the first rehearsal

begins 15-30 minutes after auditions.

There will be two performances on June 19th at 3 and 6 pm
