LOCAL NEWS

Bob & Barb Wilhelm spent five wonderful days in and around Branson, MO,

celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary early. Their daughters and

families joined in the fun, going to Silver Dollar City, boating on Table

Rock Lake, and the highlight (for the "old-timers" anyway) was eating at

Dick Clark's American Bandstand Cafe and seeing the Legends in Concert

Show - we love those Blues Brothers!

Tim Antes won the Men's Division, Brenda Royal won the Women's

Division, and Riley Porter was the winner in the Youth Division. Then

everyone went up to the Christian Church for a great breakfast.

Thanks to Susanna Porter for organizing this event.

The garage and bake sales did a great business. One garage sale host

reported over 100 customers.

In the afternoon, the American Legion Auxiliary served the 43rd

Army Band their evening meal, in the Duncan Building. There were 56

members and what a nice group of people! Judy Schwab was chairwoman

for this event and her helpers were: Jim Schwab, Ron & Lois Johnson,

Ron & Mary Wenninghoff, Bob & Barb Wilhelm, Ron & Pat Apel,

Jerry & Judy Hespen, and Fritz & Kathy Moss. Thanks to Bob Brandt

at Countryside Bank for the Groundhog souvenirs given to the Band.
