AniBrody

Ani and Brody

Bob & Barb Wilhelm went to Iowa over the weekend to visit

their favorite grandsons (their ONLY grandsons!) and to attend

Ani's vacation bible school program. The weather was just as hot

there as it was here, except most of the corn we could see was

standing in water.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

thumbnailCA2MQZW4

Friday, 8-5-1910, The Otoe Union:

Famous Rodgers was bitten by a snake, supposed to be a rattler,

in the melon patch at George Rodgers. "Two fangs penetrated his

left arm just below the elbow." The Dr. was called and even spent

the night because of the swelling even after the poison was drained

off. The consensus was that it was an old rattler, but it had had

it's tail cut off. 475 soldiers from Ft. Crook going to Fr. Riley,

camped at Palmyra. There was a huge ballgame between the

soldiers and the residents, Palmyra winning the game. Winstone

Keach died and was buried at Unadilla. Gladys Farrand and

Fredrick Butt announced their engagement.
