LOCAL NEWS

What a wild night we had last Monday night! So much tree damage,

shingles missing, roofs gone or crushed. We were all so lucky

there weren't any injuries. (Our family lost one of its 100+

year old trees on our acreage.) Thanks so much to all the volunteers

who helped clean up that night and the next day. Our burn pile

is really full, so we will need you patience in getting rid

of your debris.

performance in her day-to-day duties, she is involved as a

Staff Training Academy guest instructor, co-chair of the

Tecumseh State Correctional Instutution Quality Council,

and an active workgroup member of the Levels Program

for segregated inmates. She also supports community fundraising

and actively involves her staff." Governor Heineman was the

The September meeting of the Unadilla Christian Church Circle

met at the home of Mary Margaret Clark. Minutes were read and

approved. Jean Lucas, Treasurer, gave a report of income and

expenses. The quilt was discussed, hopefully it will be on display

for the Creamed Chicken dinner, to be held November 7.

Jeanie Steinkuhler will have a snack schedule made by Sunday

and anyone who wants to furnish snacks for the Wednesday

night Youth Group can sign it. It was reported that vegetables

from the Youth Garden had been picked and delivered last

Wednesday evening. The church picture directories are here

and the cost will be $15 to purchase. They will be given to new

families who join the church. Rose Marie Brandt had the

organ fixed by the Organ Man from Omaha. A committee has been

organized to plan the Creamed Chicken dinner. The carpets

downstairs have to be cleaned after the flooding last week.

The company will treat it to prevent mold. Mary Margaret won

the traveling basket which was brought by Brenda DeGolyer.

She also gave devotions and served lunch.

Norman and Rose Ann Duncan just returned from a trip to

North Dakota where they visited their son Brian and family.

They report it was damp and chilly, raining three inches on

Labor Day. They had lots of fun with the newest addition,

Charlie, and his two big brothers, Sammy and Jaden.
