NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

mailbox_3

Friday, 10-14-1910, The Otoe Union:

The list of sick people was quite long. Robert Currah left for

Silver Creek, NE. Jed Russell bought 160 acres in Linn County,

Kansas, near Mound City. Mr. & Mrs. Patterson left for their

new home in McCook, NE. Margaret Ward Doyle died and was

buried in St. Leo's near Palmyra. Grayce Hinkle was a new

student at the high school. Coy Stoner brought peanuts to school

that his father had raised - there was a lot of discussion

between the teachers and students about the

"growing of oddities".
