Condolences to Cal & Jean Mallette, Syracuse, on the loss of
their daughter Sandra. She was a member of the Class of 1967
and had been a resident at Good Samaritan for several years.
We were saddened to learn of her passing, but glad that her
struggle is over.

The 2nd & 3rd Grade Music program was well attended last
Thursday, November 4th. We enjoyed all the songs, but
especially "Happy Trails" and "Mr. Ed".

The Christian Church served approximately 250 at their Creamed
Chicken Dinner on Sunday, November 7th. If you forgot to
buy a raffle ticket for the quilt, talk to Sandi Kimbell, Jean Lucas,
Peggy Luff, or Barb Wilhelm. The drawing will be held on
Groundhog Day, February 5, 2011.

Belated Happy Anniversary to Dwight & Julie Kastens who
celebrated 11-5. Belated Happy Birthday to Mark Bayliss who
celebrated 11-4 and Randy Steinkuhler who celebrated 11-7.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 11-11-1910, The Otoe Union:
W.F. Hair was having a furnace installed. Telephones were put in
I.H. Stewart's Hardware and Oscar Sasseen's blacksmith shop.
A Mr. Andrews from South Russell was the oldest voter from
Unadilla at 93. Sons were born to James Lemon's and
Earl Northropp's. Nancy Bartley Weaver, 26, who lived
3 1/2 miles north of town, died at Hiawatha, Kansas, and
was buried at Rosewood Cemetery, Palmyra.

Nebraska City on Highway #75, 1/2 mile west on "Q".)

Family Tree" given by OCGS president Curtis Wolbert.

FIDDLE WORKSHOP FOR NON-FIDDLERS

Deborah Greenblatt will share some hints about beginning
fiddling, shopping for a fiddle, reading music, playing by
ear, etc. Fiddles will be provided. The workshop takes place
on Saturday, November 20, 1-3 pm.
Pre-registration is required, enrollment is limited,
and there is a $20.00 fee.
